Work Life Week 2018!
From the 1st – 5th of October we are proudly participating in the nationwide, ‘Work Life Week’. At Diagmed we endeavour to support employees in balancing work and home life.
We understand that working and having a family to support is challenging… Therefore, we have previously offered yoga classes to all employees that wish to attend, this helped the team to de-stress and have an hour to simply ‘switch off’ from life. We felt this helped our employees to have a more positive and productive outlook on home and work life.
Furthermore, we recognise that time away from the working environment is vital in order to achieve a positive work life balance! This led to the decision for Diagmed to allow all employees to leave an hour early on a Friday; as an early weekend treat! We are proud to say that we offer flexibility and versatility in our working day, we allow employees to request working hours which suit their personal family requirements, of which we successfully manage.
During #WorkLifeBalanceWeek we will be providing fruit and vegetables for our employees to take as they wish! Nutrition is key for creating a happy and healthy mind, our aim is for our employees to enjoy the fruit and veg as a snack and/or in their evening meal!
Coupled with the above we are also providing an evening meal box for families to refine their culinary sills and sit down together to feast on their tasty creation! – Our team have been tasked with a family selfie to show us their evening of family fun!
During the week we will be providing a select few TED Talks on Work Life Balance for our team, so they can take note of the speaker’s advice and experience’… We hope you all find it a useful and inciteful exercise.
We are also holding a corporate massage day for our Head Office employees to celebrate their fundraising efforts to date! We want to thank you all for your hard work to create the events and your kind donations, which benefit countless charities!
Furthermore, we are helping our team with their work life balance with real life experiences from our employees’ testimonies on how they manage their work and home life balance i.e. Tips to switch off! – Which I think we all need help with from time to time.
Thursday the 4th calls for ‘York Well-being Day: Netwalking’ event! Our HR & Quality Manager and Office Supervisor are attending the networking lunch to better their knowledge on how they can help the Diagmed team further; while getting in those all-important steps… Remember to count ladies!
On Friday the 5th we shall all be enjoying a homemade healthy lunch, to revise the outcomes of the week and to reaffirm the importance of healthy foods and the detrimental impact they have on our mental health! During the lunch our employees will be encouraged to share their favourite family recipes and trade secretes…Sharing is caring after all!
Following on from this, our Contracts Coordinator: Nicola, is leading a group walk! – We can’t wait to release those endorphins and feel fit and healthy… Thanks Nic! Nicola has also devised some at desk exercises for the week to help us keep active and mobile while we are working away.
Last, but not least, Diagmed has a ‘Dress Down Day’ every Friday! This small perk rewards our employees and enables them to feel relaxed, as well as, potentially, saving time on a morning; which is always a great way to start the day: less rushing = less stress!
And with that, we shall leave you with a challenge, can you ‘switch off after work?’ – Turn off all your electronic devices, so you can’t access your emails and work files, and allow yourself an evening of work detox! – Let us know how you get on…
TESTIMONIAL
“The first step to a healthy work life is ensuring that employees jobs are manageable within working hours; since I started at Diagmed I have managed to monitor my work and pin point what takes me longer, and what I find a little easier, so that I can focus on monitoring the time on my tasks.”
